Gerak Ati Resources traces its roots to 2006, when the founding team began operations under the name Tri Maju Engineering. Driven by a passion for engineering excellence and a commitment to practical problem-solving, the company evolved through several phases of growth, operating as Shakti Tri Engineering before being re-established as Gerak Ati Resources on 17 March 2016 — a transformation that marked a new direction focused on specialised services in the geotechnical and marine sectors.
From the beginning, our philosophy has been built on hands-on experience, technical integrity, and respect for the challenges of ground and marine engineering. These experiences shaped our approach — delivering solutions that are not only technically sound but also practical, safe, and economical.
Today, the company proudly enters a new era under the leadership of the second generation — rebranded as KIKA Geotechnical & Marine Engineering Sdn. Bhd., combining decades of practical experience with modern engineering practices and a forward-thinking approach to increasingly complex projects.

Micro Piling
Micro piles have been used effectively in many applications of ground improvement — not only as working piles carrying high loads in constrained areas, but also for strengthening existing foundations. They are one of the most efficient deep foundation systems available, tolerating very large loads for their small size when socketed into rock.
With rigs of various sizes, we construct micro piles from just 75mm up to 300mm in soil, and 90mm to 250mm in rock — even in very constrained areas using our small drilling frames. Construction methods include wash (recirculation) boring with a drag bit, roller (tricone) bit for stiffer soils, or casing and shoe for drilling through buried timber and organic deposits. For rock, we employ the Down-the-Hole Hammer (DTH), a bottom-driven self-actuating hammer that can penetrate all rock types, including Grade I granite.
Underpinning
Existing buildings sometimes experience excessive settlement or bearing failure under their design loads, or their load is increased through structural expansion. Because the building is already in use and space is restrained, adding micro piles to existing pile caps is often the only way to strengthen the foundation without major disruption.
Our smallest drill frame is just 1m long, 600mm wide and 2.5m high — small enough to anchor into the ground or any structure, making it useful for constrained sites with low headroom. With just the rig drilling at the pile point, connected to a modified hydraulic power-pack outside the building, we can install a micro pile almost anywhere a person can enter.
Slope Stabilisation
A failing hillside or earth mass is "stapled" in place using inclined nails — a drilled, grouted hole with a single piece of reinforcement bar — creating a single block of earth able to hold back its overburden. Slope equilibrium remains essentially undisturbed throughout construction, making it practical for immediately arresting potentially failing slopes.
Soil Nails & Rock Bolts
Proven across Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. Nailing works in tension, bending and shearing, reinforced with a concrete (gunite) face over woven mesh and steel plates. Rock bolts resist force through grouted steel bars embedded into bedrock using a smaller DTH hammer, 80–100mm diameter.
Horizontal Drain
Water pressure build-up from infiltration and rainfall is a leading cause of slope failure. Perforated drains, tilted slightly upward into the slope, release ground water and reduce bulk weight — typically 75mm to 100mm in diameter, angled to the client's specification.
Ground Grouting
An economical means of remediating existing and potential geological and foundation support problems, without major disruption to structures or operations — using direct pressure injection of liquefied material into voids, cracks, fractures or cavities.
Permeation Grouting
Compaction, curtain, chemical or slurry permeation methods install a liquefied or low-mobility material, with various cement admixtures tailored to each client's needs.
Compaction Grouting
Cement grout pumped under pressure compacts surrounding soil — used for soil preparation, lifting structures, filling voids such as karstic limestone formations, and remediating sinkholes.
Marine & Structural Works
Beyond ground engineering, our team carries out marine works and structural rehabilitation — from jetty repair and pile jacketing to fender replacement and protective works in marine environments. Our repair of the jetty for APMM Cukai included pile jacket work, crack repair, fender replacement, roofing and painting — delivered with the same commitment to safety and quality as our ground engineering projects.
